Lake Santa Croce is the second largest natural lake in Veneto. Its surface reflects the image of the beautiful mountains that surround it and offers incredible views that fascinate visitors from all over the world.
At 386 m of altitude, it is very popular with sport fishing enthusiasts for the abundance and quality of its fish fauna. The lake, in fact, can boast 15 different species including whitefish and royal perch, which are the main components, lake trout and brown trout. Particularly appreciated by fishermen, especially in recent years, are also carp, pike and eel, the latter being the subject of a specific reintroduction plan. For lovers of numbers, the specimens caught in the lake are of very interesting size.
In the middle of the lake there is the main seat and the boat rental of the Alpago fishing basin n.7 while on the southern shore, in Santa Croce, there is the ichthyogenic center, an institute that aims to redevelop the area and protect the most valuable species at risk of extinction. The Center is made with spectacular windows overlooking the lake.
