From the parking lot of Case Bortot begins the loop trail that leads you in about an hour and a half to the Bus del Buson in Belluno. You start by taking the CAI 501 trail and after about ten minutes it veers right onto a fairly steep path that descends towards the Ardo stream.
It’s not dangerous, but I recommend never leaving the trail and wearing hiking shoes as the path, following the mountainside, is narrow, slippery, and winding. After barely half an hour you reach the entrance of the Bus del Buson and realize that all your efforts have been rewarded.
A landslide forced the stream to find another outlet, just a few dozen meters away, so the powerful, relentless, and unyielding force of water carved the terrifying gorge that still channels the waters flowing down from the southern slope of the great Schiara, the mountain that dominates Belluno.
The silence you feel in this place is inexplicable; stop for a moment to admire the immense beauty that once again nature gifts us and then set off on the way back.
Leaving the Bus del Buson, follow the path that ascends quite steeply, but not as much as the way in. Once you reach the main trail, it takes about twenty minutes to get to the parking lot of Case Bortot.
