Alleghe and Caprile are not only united by the road at the bottom of the valley. The inhabitants of the higher hamlets could easily move between the two locations thanks to a path halfway up Monte Fertazza, which joined the hay meadows of the hamlet of Fernazza with those of Pian and Lagusello.
The proposed tour can be done in both directions, but with a difference: in the counter-clockwise direction, in the open periods you will have the advantage of being able to use the Alleghe-Piani di Pezzè cableway to reduce the uphill difference in height. Starting from Alleghe, take the path Cai 564 that reaches Piani di Pezzè (Val de Molin) and then move towards the arrival of the cableway (Alleghe-Coi) once you reach Piani.
For those who take the cableway, from the arrival station, turn left along a small road towards Coi, a village characterised by fine mountain architecture. This is where the most tiring but also the most rewarding part begins: from the centre of Coi you take the climb up to Fernazza, which offers wonderful views, especially if you stop on the benches provided by the Cai. Once you have crossed Fernazza, keep to the left of the path that climbs to the summit and, at the fountain, turn further to the left in front of a barn, comforted by a sign on the large ash tree that indicates the direction for "Pian e Lagusello".
The ups and downs of the first section are very panoramic with remarkable views of Lake Alleghe. After a decidedly easy stretch, the path becomes increasingly narrow and requires a certain amount of attention. When you reach a clearing, without following it, you intersect the tracks that descend to Piniè, which are always well marked. A few more steps on a slight slope before you begin to lose height to get around some indentations in the coast and descend to "Costerla". From here, descending in quick succession, you will find other places: "Col de Sopernai", "Val di Soprà" and lastly "Col da la Vara": all these points are well signposted. A fence leads to the beautiful sylvan-pastoral road which reaches Pian, a characteristic and panoramic hamlet of Alleghe.
The mowing carried out by the locals conserves the great landscape value of the area and makes it an excellent example of a Dolomite garrison. In the village there is a providential fountain. Continue along the tarmac road which leads to Lagusello; cross it, following the signs for the Carducci path and the red and white signs of the CAI (Italian Alpine Club) until you re-enter the wood which soon descends to Caprile where the Fiorentina torrent flows into the Cordevole. Reach the state road to enter the centre of Caprile where, for those who have not started from here, in Piazza Doglioni it will be possible to wait for the bus that takes you back to Alleghe to close the loop.
