The "Sant'Antonio Tortal" dairy is the entrepreneurial expression of a small cooperative that presents itself on the market with products of excellent and sought-after quality. Established in 1931 and inaugurated the following year, it is located in the town from which it takes its name: Sant'Antonio Tortal in Borgo Valbelluna at an altitude of 560 meters.
It collects milk from small local farms and transforms it into a variety of cheeses such as schiz, whole milk, semi-skimmed, partially skimmed, blue cheeses, stracchino, caciotte, and subsequently butter and ricotta. All of this is done using only raw milk, without the addition of preservatives and colorants.
The cows and goats, from which the milk comes, are fed with fragrant mountain hay, the essences of which are found in the fresh cheeses and butter.
