After 100 years, the King's Bombardiers School reopens in the old barracks of Mandre in Santa Lucia di Piave: the barracks is the only one to have survived to this day.
The King's Bombardiers were artillerymen trained to create breaches in enemy trenches using the so-called bombarda, a curved mortar capable of launching a strong explosive charge over short distances, a decisive weapon in trench warfare: by visiting the museum, it is possible to learn about the life and history of these soldiers through various testimonies.
Through an exciting journey, one can return to the Days of the Great War and relive the same places where the bombardiers experienced their training path thanks to unique artifacts from museums across Italy and Europe, documents, photos, and a complete collection of bombarda, lesser-known tactical weapons that made a difference in the Great War.
Currently, the Museum is only open to visitors by request, by contacting the Municipality of Santa Lucia di Piave.
