Villa Gaggia

The villa is a private property, being the residence of Gaggia family. In some straordinary occasions, the public can visit it through guided tours. One of the visits was on 19th july 2013, for the 70th anniversary of the meeting between Hitler and Mussolini, here in Villa Gaggia. The Associazione Nazionale Famiglie Caduti e Dispersi in Guerra, in collaboration with FAI (Fondo Ambiente Italiano) and the Cultural Departament of the municipality of Belluno and the membership of I.S.B.R.E.C. (Istituto Storico Bellunese Resistenza Età Contemporanea), has promoted the day of guided tours at the villa and at its famous garden, remembering the victims of the Second World War and in general of all the wars.

Villa Gaggia rised in the XVII century by the Pagani family but it was modified many times: of the XVIII century were the construction of the wing porch and the chapel. It's known also for its beautiful park in french style: the big garden extends for many hectars of land, with long boulevards of trees, artificial caves, flowerbeds, a little amphitheatre of stone, small lakes, small bridges and a maze of hedges. The complex is formed by a central body, a service wing with porch and a chapel near the rustic wing. On the back facade of the central residence it was added a body that host the stairs. The owners have restored the original inside, after the robbery and the several devastation during the First World War, enriching it with furnitures and works of art.
